Types of printing on a T-shirt

The most frequent questions that customers ask us are: how does one type of printing differ from another? Each type of printing has its own characteristics, pros and cons. It all depends on the circulation, layout, fabric. Of course, if you haven't encountered this before, then it's not so easy to figure out what to choose right away. This is the most convenient way of printing when you need to make one or more applications. 10-15 pieces can be easily given for digital printing. With digital printing, the ink immediately falls on the fabric, which is why the method is called direct. This is somewhat similar to the work of a paper printer. You put paper and a text or drawing is printed on it. It's the same with a T-shirt, only the printer is much larger. It is placed on a special movable table. The size of the table is limited, so the print cannot exceed its size. The maximum image for digital printing is A3 (420x297 mm). There should also be no pockets, buttons, locks at the place where the drawing is planned. Advantages of digital printing: Efficiency. It takes an average of 20 minutes to make one T-shirt, during which time the T-shirt is dried and ready for use. You can print any picture and even a photo, the main thing is that the original image is in good quality. Disadvantages of digital printing: Expensive printing for large print runs. In this case, it is not possible to lower the cost due to the number of products. The image on a light one lasts about 20 washes, on a dark fabric even less, since it is printed with a white substrate. Digital printing is applied to cotton fabric. It is best to use products made of 100% cotton. A small percentage of artificial impurities is allowed, but not more than 10%. The peculiarity is that the paint is well absorbed into natural fibers. The higher the percentage of synthetics, the worse the paint will hold. It can come off after the first wash. After application, the paint on the T-shirt is dried under a press. After that, the print is ready. You can immediately put on such a T-shirt and go for a walk. Silk screen printing Silkscreen printing is the best method of printing today. But do not think that this is some modern way of transferring drawings to fabric. Silk-screen printing was invented in ancient China. Since then, the technique has changed, but the essence of printing has remained the same. This is a great method for large orders. You will feel the benefit already from 20 pieces. And if you order 200 identical applications at once, then the cost of one is significantly reduced. High-quality printing is not done quickly. It will take 3-4 working days to complete one order. This is due to the fact that special stencils are made for silkscreen printing for each color. The layout of the logo is divided into colors and each shade is applied in turn through its own stencil. The paint is thoroughly dried. Under the influence of a hot press, it is firmly sealed into fibers. Advantages of silk screen printing: Durability. Silkscreen printing is the most reliable method of printing. Withstands 50 washes and more. Paints do not wash out and do not fade in the sun. Economy. When ordering large print runs, the cost of one application is significantly reduced, since the same stencil is used. Print quality. The image turns out to be bright, with an accurate selection of shades. Drawings retain their original appearance for a long time Sublimation printing Another type of printing on T-shirts. It is used on synthetics, but only on those that are resistant to high temperatures. Printing takes place in several stages. First, the image is printed on a special paper that absorbs sublimation paints. The T-shirt is placed on a press, a printed drawing is placed on top and all this is pressed down by a hot press for a short time. Under the influence of high temperature, a chemical reaction occurs: the paint molecule is released from the paper and absorbed into the fabric. We remove the press and "voila" - the drawing is already on the T-shirt Advantages of sublimation printing: Image transmission of any complexity. You can transfer a family photo, a reproduction of Aivazovsky or any other drawing. The image is not erased. The paint penetrates synthetic fibers at the molecular level and is firmly fixed in them. Good value for money, quality and efficiency. One T-shirt can be made in an average of half an hour and it can be put on immediately.
